Well, jordie lane's gig definitely met and even exceeded my high expectations! he was fantastic. bahas tacos in rye sounded like a bit of an odd venue but it was really very cool.
jordie started out doing a few songs solo style then after a some funny chat, started up with the band. the ballads were gorgeous and the dancing songs rocked. as the margaritas and sangria took hold of the audience more and more people started to listen and groove. a dance floor sprung up in the middle of the restaurant and once jordie sung a few covers, including a great version of sheryl crow's "are you strong enough to be my man", the crowd was hooked. the band seemed to be having a good time too - to the point where they stated that they had drunk too much to drive back to Melbourne and asked if could anyone put them up for the night - a lot of ladies volunteered!
$45 for three hours jordie, a three course dinner and a floor show put on by rye's young hip kids and its older divorcees - how can you go wrong!
